Lore India Foundation Scholarship Trust has invited applications for its national scholarship programme from students of classes X, XI and XII from across India. More than 100 students will be identified through a scientifically evolved Learning Aptitude Test (LAT).

Lore India Foundation Undergraduate Scholars Scholarship Eligibility
The applicant:
Should be enrolled in Classes X, XI or XII at the time of applying.
Must be a citizen or permanent resident of India.
Should be planning to pursue an undergraduate program from a recognized and accredited Indian or foreign university in any discipline.

How to select Lore India Foundation Undergraduate Scholars Scholarship Process?
The applicants will be shortlisted through the Learning Aptitude Test (LAT) and awarded the scholarship in accordance with their rank in the test. If it is not possible to rank the applicants on the basis of their score in the LAT, there will be a second round of examination, the format of which will be decided by the Governing Council of the Lore India Foundation Scholarship Program.

Lore India Foundation Undergraduate Scholars Scholarship Award:
The total amount of scholarship on offer under this program is Rs 5 crore.

The scholarship available as per the rank secured by an applicant is:
1st rank: Rs. 50 lakh
2nd rank: Rs. 30 lakh
3rd rank: Rs. 20 lakh
4th- 53rd rank: Rs. 5 lakh each
54th-103rd rank: Rs. 3 lakh each

Lore India Foundation Undergraduate Scholars Scholarship Features

The scholarship:
Can be used for undergraduate education in any discipline.
Can be used for preparation of any entrance exam required to get admission to the program of the applicant’s choice.
Shall be paid directly to the educational institution.
Will be in the form of an interest generating trust fund available for the selected scholar to draw upon for a period of 7 years from the date of the award.
In order to maximize the effect of our mentorship program, the selected scholars will undergo a comprehensive interest schedule/psychometric analysis for insights that will help us effectively guide the student.

Lore India Foundation Undergraduate Scholars Scholarship Application fee
The application fee for this program is Rs. 1,850/-

Applicants have the option to pay the fee via two methods:
Online: The applicant can pay the fee online with either a credit or debit card while completing the registration for the test; or
Cash: The applicant can pay the fee in cash into any branch of AXIS BANK across the country. 

LAT Test Date:
The LAT will be delivered across designated centers across the country on September 28, 2014.

Qualifying students will receive cash scholarships from a generous corpus of Rs. 5.5 crore and also benefit from valuable mentoring and coaching provided by renowned academicians. Once selected, the scholars will undergo a comprehensive interest schedule/psychometric analysis to gain insights that will allow experts to provide them effective guidance in their educational careers.

Administered in English and Hindi , LAT is devised to test a child’s aptitude or innate brain power as opposed to their academic learning. The scholarship programme is guided by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and a body of academic stalwarts that constitute Lore India Foundation’s Governing Council, including both current and retired professors from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indian School of Business (ISB), Medical Council of India and University Grants Commission (UGC), among others.

In order to avail of this opportunity, students will have to apply online on http://lorefoundation.org. The registered students will then have to appear for LAT. The top three students will be awarded scholarships of Rs. 50 lakh, Rs 30 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively.

This scholarship programme comes with another feature to help promote quality learning infrastructure at school levels. This includes a ‘Rewards and Recognitions Programme’ for schools to enable them to fund meritorious students from disadvantaged backgrounds, improve school infrastructure and acquire new technology and learning tools for a complete classroom experience. Schools shall be ranked based on the performance of their students in LAT. The top three schools in the country shall receive monetary awards of Rs 25 lakh, Rs 15 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively.
